Flavio Favelli, bending time with art and words
Abstract
Flavio Favelli (1967) is one of the most prominent contemporary Italian artists. His creative work includes a vast corpus of writings on art, creativity, Italian society, and their relationship to his life that has never been subject to thorough analysis. This essay focuses on Favelli's writings from 2001 to the present, investigating their main subjects, rhetorical-stylistic peculiarities, aspects of language, also through references to Art History and Contemporary Literature. In the second paragraph, special attention is paid to the iconotext Bologna la Rossa (2019). Scripture as Form, a previously unpublished interview with the artist, appears at the end of the essay.
