The Dream of Thought, the Revelation of the Senses: John Keats' "Ode on Indolence"
Abstract
In contrast with the dominant ideology of its time, which exalted profit and productivity, Keats's Ode on Indolence elevates contemplation as the most desirable condition for humanity. This essay is a close analysis of the text, with a particular focus on the role of nature in Keats's poetic work.
