Abstract

Rosetta Loy published her debut novel La bicicletta in 1974. This symbolic object of movement makes two brothers and two sisters talk to their father and mother, from adolescence to adulthood, sketching conflicts and returns. Without forgetting the history line that shapes the succession of generations. This article aims to show how the theme established in La bicicletta will be developed in the following books, from L’estate di Letuchè (1982) to Sogni d’inverno (1992), possibly sublimating itself (perhaps) in the autobiographical novel La prima mano (2009).
