Abstract

The first part of the essay focuses on the reception of Samuel Beckett in Gianni Celati’s work, from the early essays published in the ’60s, to the narrative proses of the ’80s, also discussing the studies on the subject. The second part analyzes Celati’s translation of Beckett’s From an Abandoned Work (1957), Da un lavoro abbandonato, published in the magazine “Il Semplice” in 1997, comparing it to Valerio Fantinel’s previous translation.
